During a telephone conversation, the newly appointed Macedonian Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani assured the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, that he would support Ukraine's integration into NATO and the EU - reported the German-speaking Ukrainian medium "Ukrinform", citing the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.
The Foreign Minister of Ukraine is said to have congratulated the Foreign Minister on his election as head of the Ministry.
“Dmytro Kuleba expressed the hope thatNorthMacedonia would support the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine as a member of NATO and as a candidate country for EU membership. Bujar Osmani has given such support and willingness to share the successful experience of integration into the North Atlantic Alliance,” Ukrinform writes.
The parties discussed in particular the development of trade and investment between the two countries. The Macedonian Foreign Minister expressed his conviction that Macedonia "has great potential for developing economic cooperation and trade with Ukraine".
As Ukrinform further reports, the conversation partners also discussed Macedonia's connection to the EU sanctions policy against the Russian Federation on the phone.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry says according to Ukrinform:
"Bujar Osmani stressed that North Macedonia continues to share the EU's stance and supports Ukraine in its efforts to defend and restore territorial integrity and sovereignty within internationally recognized borders".
The parties agreed to intensify political dialogue and strengthen bilateral relations between Ukraine and Macedonia and to resume the work of the Joint Committee for the Implementation of the Free Trade Agreement as soon as possible.
Dmytro Kuleba invited Bujar Osmani to visit Ukraine. As Ukrinfomr informs: "The Foreign Minister of Macedonia accepted the invitation. In return, he invited the Foreign Minister of Ukraine to visit his country."
