Macedonia came away with a win from the visit to Israel as part of the Russia 2018 world cup campaign and now sits in the 5th position on 6 points, 3 shy of Israel who sits at 9 points in 4th place.
Macedonia outplayed Israel for lengthy periods of the match, however poor decision in front of goal kept the scoresheet 0-0 all the way to the 73rd minute when 17 year old Elmas sent out a great pass to Pandev who in turn slotted the ball low in the right corner.
The goal proved decisive as frustrated Israel crumbled, with Eran Zahavi throwing his captain armband to the ground, whose gesture was booed by the home crowd.
Macedonia plays their next match on Tuesday against Albania.
