Number of tourists in Macedonia grows by 18 percent in April


The number of tourists visiting Macedonia grew to 68.047 in April of 2017, and the number of night stays grew to 140.081, an increase of 18,4 and 18,6 percent respectively, the State Statistics Bureau informed on Monday.

The number of domestic tourists grew by 15,8 percent and that of foreign tourists is up by 19,6 percent. Most of the foreign guests come from Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, followed by the category of Asian countries, Germany, Croatia, Kosovo and Albania.

Seen by trimesters, in the period of January to April 2017 the number of tourists grew by 10,7 percent and the number of overnight stays grew by 9,8 percent.
