Kiprotich Kirui Wins Wizz Air Skopje Marathon for Second Time


Kenyan runner Kiprotich Kirui won the Wizz Air Skopje Marathon this Sunday, running the distance in 2 hours, 12 minutes and 59 seconds. His compatriot Edwin Kipruti Kirva was second, with 2 hours, 16 minutes and 15 seconds, and another Kenyan runner, Samuel Kimutai Kiptum completed the race in 2 hours, 16 minutes and 32 seconds.

This is the second time in a row that Kiprotich Kirui won the main marathon race in Skopje. Aleksandar Kirajdziev was the best placed Macedonian runner, coming in sixth in 2 hours, 41 minutes and 37 seconds.

Among women runners, Kenyans Stela Barsosio, Salina Jebet and Gladis Bivot won the three top places, with Barsosio completing the race in 2 hours, 33 minutes and 42 seconds.

In the half-­marathon race, Dario Ivanovski was the winner, ahead of Atanas Ancevski and Milos Rancic. Winners in the women's half marathon race were the Estonian triplets Lily, Lina and Leila Luik.
