Bozin Pavlovski novel nominated for International Dublin Literary Award

The Horn of Love, a novel by the Macedonian writer Bozin Pavlovski, after being nominated by the St. Clement of Ohrid National and University Library in Skopje, is vying for the International Dublin Literary Award for 2017.

147 novels in 18 languages, nominated by national and city libraries from 38 countries, are being considered for the prestigious international literary prize. The award is presented for a novel published or translated into English.

In 2012, Macedonia was represented by Blaze Minevski and his work The Mark.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony on June 12 in Dublin.

The winner will receive EUR 100,000. If the book is translated, then EUR 25,000 goes to the translator.

Macedonia-born Bozin Pavlovski, who currently lives in Australia, is the author of eighteen novels translated in various European languages. He has won numerous foreign and Macedonian literary awards.

The Horn of Love has been longlisted alongside novels by Kate Atkinson, Margaret Atwood, Orhan Pamuk, Georgi Gospodinov, Michel Houellebecq, John Irving, Kazuo Ishiguro, Paula Hawkins, etc.

Previous winners of the International Dublin Literary Award, presented since 1996, include Orhan Pamuk, Herta Muller, Mike McCormack, Jon McGregor, Javier Marias, Michel Houellebecq, etc.
